Incoming Mobility Program (Erasmus +)
The École nationale des charters is a signatory of the Erasmus 2014-2020 charter. This charter enables it to establish mobility agreements with other establishments that have signed the European charter.
The School has already signed twenty Erasmus + agreements with European universities. These partnerships enable their students to move to the School for a period of 3 to 12 months, at master or doctoral level, in order to follow courses and carry out their research work, or even an internship (in a laboratory or in one of our partner heritage institutions). It is thus possible to extend your presence at the School with an internship that our services can help you find. However, this service will only be offered to Erasmus students already taking courses with us.
Preparing your arrival at the School
Students from the partner institutions must be selected by their home institution, which will be responsible for announcing the selection of the students selected each semester for the following semester.
The calendar of nominations is as follows:
For the Autumn semester (Sept-Dec): no later than May 1st
For the winter semester (Jan-April): no later than November 1st
Once selected by his or her home institution, the student will have to send us the documents below:
- Erasmus mobility kit with the learning agreement signed by the student and the home university.
- Attestation of level of French (B2 minimum required), if French is not his mother tongue
- Copy of passport
- Motivation letter
- Curriculum Vitae
These documents should be sent electronically to the following address: ri_at_chartes.psl.eu
In order to draw up their study contract, nominated students have access to all the courses in the catalogue within the limit of available places.
It is important to note that all courses are given in French only (minimum level B2).
The student will receive by e-mail, within 15 days, a notice of acceptance from the School. If he or she is accepted, the Erasmus Mobility Kit will be returned duly signed to him or her and to his or her home institution. Finally, the student will be asked to provide a passport photo to be included in the School's students directory, like any other full time registered student.
The School will help them book - within the limit of available places - a room in the students residence of the Campus Condorcet, within the limit of available places.
Erasmus students must present themselves upon arrival in Paris to the School's European and International Relations Department with the following documents:
- Original student card certifying payment of the registration fees at the home university
- Original of an identity document
- Original European social security card or E 128 form (failing this, a certificate from an insurance company in your name specifying the terms of social security cover during your stay in France).
They will be provided with all the documents and information necessary for their registration for the course and their participation in the student life of the School, including an e-mail address [ ] which the school's administration will use to communicate with them.
In coordination with the School's administration, the student will be able to finalize his or her registration for the courses selected in his or her study contract.
Our International Relations Department will take care of completing a certificate of arrival for the student's home institution. The student can also register in our historical library as well as in our partner libraries, including the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
For any questions on the spot, the main contact for Erasmus students remains the school's international relations officer. He or she will be available to listen to you or will be able to direct you to the right person within the School's management team.
Your departure from the School
Before departure, the Erasmus student will go to the School's International Relations Officer. The latter will give him/her an official letter of attendance which will enable him/her to complete the Erasmus + project and receive the last payment of his/her mobility grant. This will also be the occasion to close his or her e-mail address.
The Registrar will send him/her a transcript of marks for the courses followed at the School as soon as possible.
